Meeting Mia Ame Yee Litzenberg

ABOUT ME

I am a seasoned storyteller passionate about documenting the intersection between environmental justice and diverse cultures through global travel.

With my B.A. in Environmental Journalism and a minor in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from Michigan State University, I have extensive professional experience with stories published for Detroit PBS Great Lakes Now, Spartan Newsroom, and Great Lakes Echo.

As a Yale Conservation Scholar, I created an original Community Journalism Framework to help communities tell their own environmental justice stories. I designed a 9 week curriculum and co-taught this framework through Zoom workshops, in-person meetings, and designed and facilitated a hybrid workshop.

I am currently a Yale research presenter focusing on the social-ecological impacts of mangrove forest health for Indigenous communities in the Philippines. As a passionate and long-time content creator in the fitness and travel spaces, I am also building on my social media strategy, personal branding, and storytelling skills through a content creation mastermind program.

I have traveled to 20 countries across 5 continents, lived in Spain and am a certified open water scuba diver. In my free time, I love water color painting and planning my next adventure :)
